The first woman president of Tanzania


Samia Suluhu Hassan is the first woman president of Tanzania. He was sworn in as president on Friday, local time. Samia was sworn in as president by his party after the sudden death of the country's president, John Magufuli. News AFP.


 Samia, 61, was sworn in at Dar es Salaam. He was wearing a black suit and a red veil at the time. He then inspected the army parade. At the swearing-in ceremony, high-ranking officials applauded and congratulated Samia. Samia said he was honestly promising to uphold the Tanzanian constitution.


 According to Tanzania's constitution, Magufuli's second term in office is set to end in 2025. Samia will be in charge till then.

Among the African countries, Ethiopia's Sahel Work Jude is officially holding the presidency. She is also a woman.


Samia Hasan's political life is 20 years. He has reached from the grassroots level to the National Assembly. During the 2015 presidential election campaign, Samia was announced as the running mate of the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduji party in Magufuli.


Magufuli and Samia were re-elected in October last year. However, there are allegations of irregularities in the election. Samia will have to negotiate with the party to appoint a new vice president. Analysts say Samia may be under pressure from leaders known as Magufuli's allies in the Chama Cha Mapinduji team.


Samia Hassan is not well known outside of Tanzania. He announced the news of Magufuli's death on the country's state TV last Wednesday. Magufuli died of a heart attack. However, he was not seen in public for about three weeks before that. There is a mystery as to why he was not seen. There are various questions about his death. There are rumors that he was infected with Kovid 19.
